We've designed Facilitator Superpowers to save you time and keep you in control of your sessions, so you can focus on running a happy and productive workshop or meeting.

Have you ever been through this:

You're a facilitator in an intense remote design sprint.

Participants have just completed a storyboarding session and are now on to sharing and critiquing the different ideas.

People in different locations are not following the presentations and wandering to the next idea.

The presenters are not engaged either, as the audience is adrift.

To make things worse, you also notice that you're 20 minutes behind schedule.

If you’ve ever run any kind of workshop, you know facilitating can be hard -- juggling staying on track while keeping everyone focused and engaged is no easy feat. If you’ve ever braved facilitating remotely, you know running a workshop remotely can be even harder.

We know it too, so we brought Facilitator Superpowers to MURAL to make running remote workshops easier than ever.

Remote work is growing, and so is remote facilitation. Facilitators, we believe in the work you do, and we want to give you the tools to run smooth and successful workshops from anywhere.

You’ll automatically have access to Facilitator Superpowers in any new mural you create. For now, they include a timer and the ability to summon participants to where you are in the mural.

You can also designate other people as co-facilitators in a mural.

Use the timer to timebox activities and stay focused and on schedule. If you realize you need more time for an activity, you can add extra time on the fly in increments of 1 or 5 minutes.

Once you start the timer, you’ll see the countdown right in the top bar of the mural you’re working in, so you don’t have to switch tabs to keep an eye on the time. You or any co-facilitator will be able to start and make changes to the timer.

Participants will be notified when you start the timer, if you add time or pause the clock, and when the time is up so everyone stays in sync.

Keeping participants’ attention is tough, and “cat herding” can waste precious time during remote workshops if participants get distracted between activities. To make sure everyone is looking at the same thing at the same time, you can summon all participants to where you are in the canvas.

Rest assured that everyone is together and in the right place when you move on to your next activity.

"I used Summon in several workshops and it’s been SO helpful to quickly bring people to the current activity. I’ve saved so much time using summon rather than only verbally guiding them through the space. Love it!"
Tabitha Flatt, Accenture

We have more Facilitator Superpowers in the works! We’re exploring voting on a specific area, adding instructions, revealing authors of content, creating an agenda and more.

Let us know what type of Superpowers you'd like to have - and we'll do our best to keep your facilitation mastery moving forward 💪🏽.
